Netflix has scored another success with the new Korean series Squid Game, which is on track to become the streaming service’s highest-rated series of all time.
According to co-CEO Ted Sarandos, the Korean dystopian horror thriller is on pace to become the streaming service’s most popular program in a language other than English.
Sarandos, who is also Netflix’s president of programming, made the remarks Monday at the Code Conference in Los Angeles, according to Cnet.
He mentioned about a program on Netflix that is the No. 1 show in the globe, literally everywhere. Which he referred to as the Squid Game.
“Squid Game will undoubtedly be our most popular non-English language program in the globe.”
He said that there is a very strong possibility that this will be their largest exhibition to date.
He did not specify the metric used to determine the series’ popularity, but Netflix determines its popularity by counting the number of views within the first 28 days after a title’s premiere.
Netflix revealed its top 10 original series and films earlier this week, based on the first 28 days of a title’s availability.
