this is a discord server for teaching and learning Arabic of all varieties! lessons about culture, grammar, vocab and linguistics occur much more now that holidays have started. The community is really big and active too :) They also recently added dialect channels (literally yesterday) including Shaami dialects and there are hundreds of natives on the server from the region!
Do people in Arab countries with Twitter and Facebook accounts normally post personal photos of themselves, the way that Americans do, or would that be considered unusual there? How about use of their real names?
I am researching a viral campaign on social media. Twitter deleted a bunch of accounts it said was suspicious and maybe bots. Many of the people whose accounts were deleted were in the Middle East, and claim to me that they can't prove they are real people by sending me photos, because they are Muslim, and Muslim people do not put personal photos on social media. Does that sound true?
