Before the introduction of Islam and Christianity, the various peoples of Africa subscribed to their own native-born religions. Today, most data on religious adherence points to a marked decline in native African religions and a dominance of foreign Abrahamic faiths (Islam & Christianity). Many experts claim that large segments of the African Muslim and Christian community are syncretic in-nature and are influenced by their native beliefs. So my question is: what is the current situation of African traditional religions in your nation? Do you seem them existing in the future in their pure, unadulterated form? How influenced are the Christians and Muslims in your country by the native ancestral beliefs? Do you think native religions should be revived and promoted? Thank you!
