In order to bolster border security, Malaysia and Indonesia have agreed to further increase collaboration between the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in the form of integrated posts, as well as other means.

According to the Senior Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, the joint action between the Malaysian Armed Forces and the TNI was now centred at six integrated stations along the Sarawak-Kalimantan border.

It was also agreed that joint exercises between the armed forces of Malaysia and Indonesia would continue, as part of a coordinated effort to counter terrorist threats. He said this would be accomplished through the Malaysia-Indonesia land, sea, and air joint exercise (LATGABMA MALINDO DARSASA), which will be held in Malaysia next year.

It is said in a statement that this combined exercise will include the collaboration of the three branches of both nations’ military services, as well as the police forces.

Advice for teaching English is Asia?

Hello reader,

I’m an undergrad student studying Economics in Toronto, Canada. I’m going into my 4th year of study, and I’m looking to take a break from university for 1 year.

Back in 2019, I spent a month in Japan and had the most fun of my life.

Long story short, tons of family problems + 2 years of staying inside my house have brought me to my breaking point.

I NEED to take some time away and I’d love to return to Asia for 3-6 months. However, travelling in Asia costs money. I’m planning to teach English, to sustain my costs of living.

I am planning to go this summer, and I am willing to get whatever certifications are necessary. Background on me: I speak fluent English and French, and basic Mandarin. I’d like to spend my time in one of the following countries (ranked by interest): Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea.

Honestly, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just really need an escape right now, and I need to find the means to finance it.

TLDR: Want to spend 3-6 months teaching this summer in either Singapore, Taiwan, Japan or South Korea. I am an undergrad student, and I am willing to get any certifications necessary.
