How conscious of constructed social classes are Africans (specifically the youth) in the diaspora? The older I grow the more I realise that rejecting the social class that people try to box you in is one of the most powerful weapons a black person can possess. The African youth in Australia still has internalised feelings of inferiority and a great chunk of them are adopting fake gangster lifestyles as a way to rebel and/or find their identity. What are your thoughts on this?
