Okay so I’m in the process of applying for a job in the mines, however I need a police clearance. My employer told me they take 2-4 days. I thought I’d do it most authentically, and go to the police station to fill it out. After I’d paid, the officer told me it takes 2-4 weeks.. After looking online I realised there are some websites that get your clearance certificate back to you in an hour.. I’m almost desperate to just pay for another one if it means I can give it to the employer ASAP as I don’t want to be jobless for 2-4 bloody weeks. Do you think the officer got it mixed up? Do manual submissions take 2-4 weeks? Should I just pay the $40 to get it back today so I can get the job underway? Will two different submissions stuff my application up? Gargh this is frustrating.
