Hello everyone, I have a question. I am aware that it could be a little controversial, I have just been thinking about this a lot and thought some of you might have interesting comments. I am Geneva-based, I have finished an MA in international relations. Prior to this I did a BA in chinese studies. I’ve been desperately looking for an internship for the past months, and i have my first interview with an NGO specialized in human rights/humanitarian law next week. They seem very much focused on the middle east and work with the UN. It’s only when I saw their reply that I had this thought: could a 6-8 months internship within this specific NGO affect my chances of finding opportunities in mainland China later ? While I need practical experience and this seems like quite a unique and interesting opportunity (if it works out of course), i don’t want to make choices that could label me later and turn out to exclude me from other chances. I am quite young and would appreciate some understanding :) Thank you.
