I'm just posting here incase there is an Australian method.
How do I stop messages that have no number attached? Apparently IOS 14 has a better blocking system, but still doesn't block contacts that have no number attached.
If you know what I mean, it's those messages that you have to send "Stop" to stop getting the messages, but obviously the scam ones don't let you or take you to a fake website. I'm getting those messages multiple times a day.
Getting a new number would be my last choice.
Gotta work in a bar on the night of State of Origin. Not happy about this at all.
Warning: On a state roast thread your state may, shockingly, get roasted. Try to remember that we're all Aussie, and taking the piss is what we do. Keep it civil.
Saw the idea on another subreddit, and thought it might be fun to do here. Every few days, a new thread will be posted targeting a specific state or territory to roast. Pretty self-explanatory.
Avoid roasting states other than the target state; no one is safe, they'll all get their turn eventually.
Try to be original and creative.
Also I guess I have to repeat not to be butthurt. The Victoria thread previously had a 27% upvote rate as if we weren't giving the exact same treatment to all the other states. This is all in good fun, and being upset at interstate roasting is un-Australian
Long story short, after finishing up my previous work contract in June I then started and have now completed an Undergraduate Certificate as part of the subsidised short course measure. Really enjoyed it, got great results, however now i'm feeling conflicted about where to go from here. To pursue a bachelors degree in the field i'm interested in I would have to move interstate, however given the financial challenges of having certain payment rates reduced to their previous amounts + the current and future job market it would be incredibly tough for me. Even more so, due to my previous work history not lending itself to the typical industries that make up most of the casual / part time labour market, and I am also a mature aged student - chances are most businesses are going to take a younger person with experience over a bloke who's nearly 30.
On the other side of the coin, prior to this year my home state already had a really bleak job market and it's only going to get worse. Prior to my last job, I was unemployed for quite some time and that has many of its own challenges as well. I have moved back home, and I am able to stay here until I find work again so the financial strain won't be as significant if i'm staying in my home state.
Any advice for a lost soul? I have lost countless hours of sleep running through the scenarios, pros and cons etc and would really love some outside perspective.
Cheers,
Hạnh Dương
