With tax returns due on October 31st, I am curious to hear about the average amount that people got this year for their tax bill.
My tax bill was around $500 but I managed to get it down by almost 50%. I am still studying, was working 2-3 part-time jobs, and am in the low-income bracket. I was surprised as I also had health insurance throughout the year (both hospital and extras) yet was still charged the Medicare levy.
What was your tax bill this year and how much were you able to reduce it by?
Got a letter saying my household has been “ randomly selected” to contribute, but I’ve been “randomly selected” the last two times for this shit, first time I did it, second time I ignored it and some rude bitch from census came to my house while I was at work, threatened my wife with fines and legal action and practically forced her to complete the forms. So this time I am not doing it what so ever, they can fuck right off.
What can they do?
Is it just me or are fake Telstra support calls increasing in frequency? I am averaging about 3 a week, never answer any of them as I leave unknown calls to voicemail.
They first started off using Indian callers, then a recorded voice and now it seems they have ripped off some Aussie female recorded voice. All claiming the internet connection has been compromised and I will lose connectivity in 24 hours.
They are becoming extremely annoying. Now If its not some Telstra scam it is some Mandarin recorded message screaming in my ear.
