(M19) Hopefully this is the right sub if its not maybe I can post it some where else. I'm about a month away from completing my first of 3 years of a business degree at uni in Melbourne. I planned to major in sports management and another major that I hadn't selected yet. I didn't really have a strong vision in mind for what I wanted to do after uni but thought maybe something in sports business. Uni was something that I wasn't particually enjoying even though my grades were fine (averaging in the 70s).

Like many others I have been applying for any work I can get over the last 6 months or so and recently I stumbled across an Ad that would begin as casual but then transition to full time after a couple months. I won't reveal the name of the business but it's a Electrical Whoelsaler (think Reece Plumbing but for electricians) this job seems like it would give me some great hands on experience learning all aspects of a business (sales, learning the books, fufilling product orders etc). After applying for the job the business contacted me back and set up and interview that ultimately led to a job offer which I have accepted. My thinking was that a business degree may not be as valuable as a degree in another field and that hands on experience would hold greater importance to a future employer. If all goes well I could be at this job for a couple years maybe and have lots of experience doing a variety of things. Would it have been better for my future to finish out my degree or did I make the right choice taking the job? Am I really shutting myself off to lots of opportunities without the degree.

Tl;DR- Pulled out of uni after 1 year of doing a business degree to take a full time job, whats more valuable to an employer degree or hands on experience.

Today I discovered that, there are native penguins to Australia called 'Fairy Penguins.' Can someone tell me where exactly they live and how? Australia is generally a hot environment.

I’m getting daily spam/scam text messages for about the last 2 months, they always come from different fake phone numbers. I’ve tried reporting to the ACMA, but that’s not doing anything.

Is there anything that can actually be done to stop this?
