I'm an Australian citizen who has been living in Scotland for the last 5 years, and got a diagnosis there of ADHD through the NHS & prescribed medication for the past 3 years. I recently moved back here, and have been having difficulties getting the same prescription recognized, as I think they must be cracking down on new scripts for the medication quite heavily here.
I've been to see a psychiatrist, who has un-diagnosed me with having ADHD in their opinion, and refused to write a script for regular medication. Instead they've given me a temporary, smaller dose script to wean off of it to prevent withdrawals.
Obviously I'm going to be going and getting opinion from another psych, but my question is if I have any legal ground to stand on for proving that I have a diagnosis and having that honored, or whether it is just up to the whims of whichever psych I see to decide?
I'm pretty scared right now, so if anyone has any advice about where else to go to get assistance, I'd really appreciate it.

There's a thought there, I don't know what it is yet. lol
I understand its not racism because we're all Australian.
But it feels like people just have these pre-scripted sentiments that they want to feel and express, and then whenever the opportunity arises they just start vomitting up insults, blame and blabbering about needing to shoot people. I can see how racism would feel easy and appealing to these people. It just seems like a pretty miserable way to live.
Anyways I'm just seeing Brisbane stuff. Are other states feeling the Victoria-hate too?

ETA: I thought about it some more and I think fear probably plays a big part. If we all respond to fear with fight-flight-freeze then maybe these are just the people who tend towards fight. But yeah, crazy how so quickly some people hate people from another Australian state.

Hi, so I'm a learner driver and went out driving with my mum today.
I head into a petrol station and had to reverse. I underestimated how long the rear of mum's sedan was and reversed into a parked car leaving a dent I think.
As this was my first "accident" I was kind of freaking out and just wanted to pull over and find the owner of the car. My mum however pushed me to just leave. Not wanting to get her angry, I pulled out of the servo and began driving home trying to convince her to go back to no avail.
I'm worried about the repercussions of driving off as a learner especially since I wanted to stay and get the driver's details.
Anyone I can reach out to about this?
Thanks
Edit: convinced my mum to head back to the service station. Looks like everything's sorted.
Thank you for the help everyone. I really appreciate it.
