I'm fucking sick of feeling like a third rate citizen just because I rent.

It's bad enough that 3 monthly we have to invite strangers into our homes to judge us. It's bad enough I have to worry every time one tiny scratch or mark happens. It's bad enough that I can't have pets because with 3 kids that's already hard enough to find a decent rental. I'm poor. Rent takes a majority of my money. I can rarely have a break. I haven't had a holiday in years. I am unemployed and severely mentally and physically disabled. I can't keep doing this.

The landlords refuse to fix things. The landlords complain that our own personal possessions are not neat and tidy (I have piles of stuff on my desk). I can't live my life freely in my own fucking home.

I will probably never be able to afford my own home and I am nearly 40. I pay the bills. I pay rent on time every time. I let all the trades etc. come in whenever they need to. I am a walkover because I can't afford to continually move house.

We did a virtual rent inspection due to Covid 19 and it wasn't good enough.Because the landlord expects more than is reasonable. We keep the house clean. We avoid damage. We are not trying to ruin their house. I feel like shit.

So I am here to tell people that you are so fucking lucky if you own your own home. And if you are a landlord I hate you because you are feasting off the poor for profit and treating them like scum.
