The process of getting my Cypriot citizenship has started, and I’ll be receiving it in a little over a year assuming everything goes right. For anyone who doesn’t know (I really hope everyone does considering this is a European subreddit): Cyprus is apart of the EU.
I’m a US citizen who was born in the US, and I will probably live in the US for as far as I can see. My family is from Cyprus, and I’m getting my citizenship through my mother. I’ve heard with an EU citizenship you can go to a lot of colleges within the EU for cheaper prices compared to someone without one. This is really good for me, since I’m entering high school, and I really like Oxford a lot: A great college that offers cheaper rates for EU citizens. By the time I apply to college, I’ll have my EU citizenship. This give me the opportunity to study in an EU country with great education and lower prices than in the US.
I’m not too sure what else I would be able to benefit off of, if anything. Since I believe this is the right subreddit to ask, I’ve decided to ask my question today: What are the benefits of being a dual citizen with an EU country?
All answers are greatly appreciated!

As you may noticed by watching the weather forecast or the submissions on this sub Europe will get a hit by a strong heatwave starting on Tuesday till at least Sunday. Based on the recent forecasts the heatwave will hit central europe, Italy and the Balkans on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in some parts. In other parts there is a short break on Thursday and Friday and we're back to hell on the weekend.. Its possible that we will lose Spain between Friday on Sunday.
The megathread is for every information, trivias, forecasts, pictures and so on in the next days so the rest of the sub can ignore the fact that the world is burning outside the windows.
I will update the Megathread with more informations and forecasts starting on Tuesday.

In old Eastern Europe, a fierce debate is raging on "food-apartheid" - that big food giants sell poorer food in the east than in the west. The European Commission is now releasing a report that will calm down the upset feelings.
It looks like Nutella, smells like Nutella and it says Nutella on the can. Still, it doesn't taste at all like the famous Italian nut chocolate cream. How come?
In recent years, consumers and food authorities in the old Eastern European countries have asked this question. They began to compare the contents of known foods and other products between EU countries in the east and EU countries in the West to find out the answer.
Leaders in the old eastern block went completely into the roof when it was discovered that the content of a product could differ significantly depending on where in the EU it is sold. A strawberry yoghurt from the same manufacturer contained more real strawberries in Austria than in Bulgaria, and a fish stick more fish in Germany than in the Czech Republic.
