I've been living and studying overseas for the past year, about to come back home to Australia for my summer break. I arrive on Thursday evening and on Sunday morning I'm launching straight into a week-long family trip with a bunch of kids around ... I'm a little concerned about getting the flu, and have been warned by a family member that it's a good idea to get the flu shot before we leave.
If I find a walk-in place to get the shot on Friday, is that going to do anything to help prevent me from getting sick in the upcoming week? I tried to have a look into getting a flu shot now, before I leave, but I live in a really small city and since they're just going into summer I can't find anywhere that has it available. I get the impression it'll be leaving it too late to get it on Friday, but figured I could try my luck just in case it'll do anything. I'll take whatever I can get at this point!
I've got no idea about this stuff, and not sure where to go for info! Any advice is appreciated :-)
