Recently in Metekel, Beninshangul, Ethiopia, violence took place where young children were murdered according to reports on top of other similar violence that's been taking place. Peaceful Protestors expressed their frustration with both ADP and the federal government with chants that echoed "ADP does not represent Amharas" and posters expressing dissatisfaction with the federal government.
People were also infuriated with ADP's weak response to the violence and even attempts to discourage the peaceful protests through recent announcements.
Comments were made about how there's confusion why the government is failing to protect the people mentioning Amharas historical sacrifices and contributions for the country.
Personally I echo their confusion and anger in wondering wth is going on in this country and who's in charge. All this seems foreign and systematic as such ethnic violence is a rare and new occurence, especially in the revent past, within the year, where one violence took place one after the other in a perfect sequence. If the evil Tplf were behind it then why not go after them? Why allow them to take shelter freely in the first place or give them time knowing them and their past involvements. If not them then who is responsible for "conflicts" that arise out of no where that targets ethnic Amharas or those like them by assumption.
Both the federal government and regional ADP were forgiven by the people and especially the Amhara people they have both wronged in the past murders, abductions, tortures and gross rights violations perpetrated by the government itself run by the insecure genocidal TPLF freaks and yet they have both failed to answer the people.
In response to the violence APD discouraged retaliation and preached peace but the question remains who is protecting the people? And what is being done to ensure this doesn't take place again? ADP also attempted to discourage the peaceful protests through a defamatory propaganda annouccement towards those associated with the protests. Even though I am not acquainted with them, I think they have stuck to the Amhara and Ethiopia cause with points the crazy criminal infested orgs like TPLF and OLF would never support so that atleast hints they are genuine and also because they reflect the people's character and thinking more than puppet ADP ever has. I have refrained so many times from criticizing this party but I'm confused as to why it's not taking a strong ethical competitive stance and not reflecting the Amhara character properly. All I know is that Amharas deserve a strong intelligent ethnic leader that is loyal to and will stand for the people. They have the right to be heard, and they want the constitution changed as it does not represent them as it was installed by a genocidal party out destroy them. They want to live in peace and work in peace. They want their lands back. They want their opportunities and their livelihood maintained, they don't want the legacy and sarifices of their forefathers tarnished by fabricated propaganda, they don't want to be led by propaganda politics but truth.
What amazes me the most is what exactly the barbaric perpetrators are thinking. Amharas historically sacrificed their lives more than any other for what all call home today. So how is this violence justified? Amharas are not the ones who migrated, these lands belong to them by ancestry and through inheritance. But even so they have accepted the actual migrants on different sides and yet what is heard is the reverse. The Kings built cities, churches and schools where ever within their ancestral territories and attempted to develop different areas. So what is all this foolishness based on some genocidal divisive propaganda of some insecure party?

Hey there, I'm new to Reddit, but like
- Why does the r/Africa subreddit seem kinda dead? Like its just a ton of news links and thinks that look like spam.
- Also, is there by any chance a subreddit to rant out about how, as a young African there's a ton of pressure to be the greatest, and to work the hardest, and to go overseas and be great and shine for your continent but come back and also make your whole family proud? I mean like woah. Plus there's the issue with messed up leadership and feeling the pressure that shoot I should do better, I can do better, we can turn this around, my country's pride and what not.

Not a particularly intriguing Post. I am just curious that only 16k people are on Reddit from Africa.
