Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows the legality of photographing local sports events like like football (seniors, not juniors. Not risking that headache)?
As far as I know, public photography is legal but I don't know how it extends, if at all, to photography footy or cricket games at the local oval, and is it state-by-state basis?
I figure it would be a great opportunity to get some photography practise in but I'd hate to be stepping on toes.
Thanks,

Like the title says, I'm doing a student assessment and in desperate need of samples. If you are studying at USYD and could take a couple minutes out of your day to answer this short questionnaire you would be a lifesaver for me and 2 other people.
thanks a lot reddit

Just came back from a wonderful holiday with my fiancee in Taiwan - she's still there, she's taking care of her grandfather.
Got pulled up by customs for a 'random' check on the way back.
Despite having
Programmer
on my incoming declaration card, they insisted on raiding my baggage and my phone and usb sticks looking for "objectionable" material.
I'm like guys, I'm in IT. If I was bringing in something obscene, I'd do it online, not in physical form.
The most curious part, they didn't want to scan my laptop... Sure it had the company logo on the back of it, but that's just a sticker.
I don't care so much, I logged into all my servers immediately and pulled my phones ssh keys, revoked the phone's telegram session, etc, etc. There's nothing of note beyond that on my phone. It's just that it took them over 2 damn hours to scan the phone - after a 10 hour flight overnight with almost no sleep.
Lesson learned, I'm going to buy a phone in Taiwan and leave it there, leave my Australian phone here.
Might prepare a usb stick full of security, customs and privacy memes just to get my jollies if it happens again
edit: This was Brisbane International Airport (just a little extra context)
