"We were evicted by the Ormiya special force. We were innitially told that they came for our security, but around 3:00pm they started tearing down houses. When we asked them what was going on they responded with violence, shooting at us and hitting us...from Kolfe Keraniyo, partly evicted from the Ababa ababa side but more were eveicted from the Oromiya side... we number around 2000... we are currently taking shelter at Fanuel church..."
"We went to the regional adminstration and were told that the region doesnt handle this... we were forbidden from talking to people. They wouldnt even allow us food. The police circled us and wouldnt allow residents to talk to us or give us food... finally the residents complained and handed us some food... then the commander started to comfort us and told us they would find a way to assist us...and left us alone... but at 12:00am mid night the police came and started attacking us... they told us they were to take us to jal meda... some of the kinder police warned us not to go... and that no matter what not to get on those trucks. And that once we get on and go they could do nothing for us and that they only had orders to take us there and attack us..."
"We went to the addis ababa side adminstration, they told us to leave... the man said he could only provide us security and take us back to where we came... so he gave us security and they brought us back... once they dropped us off the commander said there were some left over and that he will bring them and come back along with additonal security... later while we were waiting the Oromya special forces came through the gutter on the side of the roads and began to attack us."

I guess this hints alot as to how all the evictions really happened in several areas and who is behind it.
I'm not even sure if these people have brains any more.
This is happening to all ethnics who dont speak Oromo.
They were first evicted in november but they are stranded in that church with no support for these several months. Other evictions are still taking place, the lastest one taking place at Legetafo.
On what basis is this even happening?? If development is planned then compensate the people as was usually done and give them another place to stay at. If this is about ethnic politics, those carrying this out simply have no basis to do this because these areas never belonged to them in the first place because they migrated in the 16th and 17th century from the far south and even before that even their Bale was under the rule of the kings. How do you solve such issues with politicians and their followers who are not inclined to logical reasoning??
