Not sure where else to post so I hope some of you guys can help out.
I'm interested in studying IT Networking at TAFE NSW but can't make up my mind on which one to go for (Diploma or CERT IV).
I have never studied a IT related course. I want to study full time, which takes about 1 semester according to their website. After I finish the course I want to start looking for a new job, perhaps even try and get into my workplace head office/IT department (Currently work in retail).
Which one wouod you recommend?
Note: I am 22 years old, finished year 12, a tech savvy person, built my own PC, keep up to date with a lot of tech news etc. If that helps.

As a new Australian I don't really understand the history of Negative gearing. Far out, I'm not even totally sure that I understand it correctly.
Can someone please ELI5 the how, when, why, etc.
Also, do any other countries have a similar system? I can't seem to wrap my head around a system where if you choose to put your investment funds into housing and it doesn't go well, you get to claim a tax write off.

What's the most economical way to manage your own equity / ETF portfolio in Australia? I'm interested in Australian and Asian shares primarily? I am not looking at algorithmic or any frequent trading, just rebalancing my (not gigantic) portfolio once a year.
Do you go through a bank, an app, a broker, a whoever? What are the usual fees?

Hi all - I've just been invited by a childhood friend to attend her wedding end of Feb.
I really want to celebrate the occasion with her and, even more so, I would love to explore Sydney
Problem is, I heard applications should be submitted 3 months BEFORE your intended visit. Does anyone if this true?
Should I leave out the part abt being invited to the wedding in my application to better my chance of getting approved?
