America: Hey, you scratch my back, i'll scratch your back ok? It'll be fair but my focus is on getting my back scratched. Did i say it will be reciprocal? So... are we friends yet?
Africa: umm...
America: I want to trade, to fight terrorists, and not spend a lot of money. What do you need?
Africa: quality education, basic infrustructures, technology/science, production capacity, emplo...
America: Good! Good! You have a lot of issues. Looks like we agree on my terms. I really care about you, i hope you know that.
Africa: how so?
America: You can have free trade. Where it will be reciprocal and create jobs for both sides as well as help grow your middle class. I will also help you build strong institutions like the military. But definetely no cash!
Africa: But i dont produce much to trade much. You will not only profit from selling to me but you will also benefit from producing here and selling there, using up less expensive labor, and raw materials. That's not really reciprocal, is it? I dont want cash, but my middle class line is quiet blurry. And yes, my youth need jobs but how much of that can you really cover? And how would you ensure the state institutions you build and other benefits will be distributed fairly, equally and used to ensure democracy?
America: Ok fine, i'll add religion to the package! And that's my final offer!
Africa: But i already have all the religion i want and dont want any more.
America: listen you little shit, if you turn me down and hangout with Russia and China, i'll make sure you cry about it. 😠 Deal? 😁 I really care about you.💕

Most of the news articles I see relating to this issue come as close as Somalia but there are Somalia people living in Ethiopia which a long history. And the Ethiopian government colonizes them, yet in these era no one seems to care about the genocides, rape and all the human right violations currently going on in there caused by Ethiopian armies, they are not even recognized as most people just consider them to be apart of Ethiopian.

I know there is a standoff in Madagascar over the rightful winner of the most election. Does anyone have any insights into what’s happening on the ground? What are the chances it devolves into violence/military coup? Is there one leader who would be preferential for the country in terms of sustaining democracy/meeting sustainable development goals?

Why is no one in this sub talking about what’s going on in Sudan? Is there anyone that can describe the crisis? Also, maybe unrelated, but how did the people of Sudan react to what happened with South Sudan/how are relations.
