I'd just like a discussion on this topic.
This is not a law yet, and I hope it never is.
I heard it on abc radio. Pedestrians who use mobile devices or earphones while crossing the road could be fined for $200.
This is insane. Walking should be free. Don't punish innocent people for mistakes dumb people make (e.g. crossing without looking).
Sarcasm:
Talking with someone at the lights is also a distraction. Can we get fines for that?
Drinking water is a distraction. Can we get a law for that as well?
If a pedestrian is in your way use your horn. It's an optional feature like your indicators.
