This summer, I volunteered at an orphanage called Home of Hope which was founded by an alum of my university located in N'Zérékoré, Guinea (West Africa). In order to secure a funding grant, the organization in charge of the orphanage, My Vision for Refugees Inc., needs to raise $40,000 before the end of this year, so please consider making a donation!! Here's the original message from the organization's founder, Sam Johnson:
GREAT NEWS ! ! !
Two donors have just joined together to give My Vision for Refugees a $55,000 grant to purchase a small bus for Home of Hope, so that the children will not have to walk (often in torrential downpours) two miles each way to school and even farther to medical facilities. They have also pledged another $10,000 per year for three years to operate the bus. With this grant, they have solved a major safety concern for the children.
THE CHALLENGE
The grant is a “Challenge Grant” requiring us to raise $40,000 by the end of this year. If we meet the challenge, it will mean $55,000 plus our $40,000 plus the three-year bus operation pledge of $15,000 for a benefit for Home of Hope totaling $110,000. This is a wonderful opportunity which means the “Annual Fund” drive we just announced is now of utmost importance. Please challenge yourself to give even more than you may have planned. Also, find others who might possibly be interested in Sam Johnson’s mission of changing the world one child at a time. Direct them to our website (MyVision4refugees.org), share your enthusiasm, and follow the philosophy of “each one bring one”. Let this challenge bring out the best in all of us.
Thank you in advance for your support of a very worthy cause!
