A man appears to have shot himself Saturday outside of the White House, according to the Secret Service.
“Secret Service personnel are responding to reports of a person who allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gun shot wound along the north fence line of @WhiteHouse,” the agency tweeted at 12:08 p.m. local time Saturday.
Police have blocked off the area to pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and medical personnel are responding to the unidentified victim, the Secret Service said.
President Trump was not at the White House at the time of the incident. He is currently in Florida.

“We’re aware of the incident. The president has been briefed,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley.
