This journo moved for grape-picking work last year and is still waiting for their relocation assistance (RATTUAJ/AgMove) to be approved. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? I know I sure am.
Anytime my partner (45 year old male) is in pain or is sick and requests stronger pain relief than paracetamol or the cold and flu medicine with codeine, or Valium for anxiety, he is told no. But when I ask (39 year old female) I am given them every time. It's upsetting for him and he feels he is being discriminated against. What do you think?
Help! I have a friend celebrating her birthday today and I want to make her laugh in Australian
Hi people of Reddit,
My wife and I are planning a move to Australia in the next few years. I’m working on my permanent residency visa now. I’m still in the dreaming/idea stage, but hoping to get some advise on what state/territory/area to try out first.
About us: I’m from the USA and she is from the Philippines. We have our first newborn coming next year. We currently live in Japan.
It will be the 3 of us looking for a friendly, open minded area that doesn’t mind mixed couples. I’m not sure how Australia is on mixed families, but where I am from in the US, it’s not common.
We’ve both wanted to live in Australia, before meeting in Japan, so we are excited to make the jump.
I really love nature, hiking, swimming etc and she enjoys friendly/kind/open people. The Japanese are a bit standoff-ish and it’s hard for foreigners to mingle as such.
I work in IT administration and management, so employment shouldn’t be an issue.
I’m loving Tasmania just on the grounds of it being so beautiful, but open to anything.
