Hi all,
Just received and played with a new scam I hadn’t had before. They rang my mobile from a Victoria number 03 5229 9720. It was an automated voice telling me my Amazon Prime account was going to be canceled. If I wanted to speak about it press 1. Which of course I want to waste some scammer time so I press 1. The minor details: They want you to use Chrome as a browser and then they have you manually type in www.amazon945.com. They ask you to read it back to them so they know you keyed it in correctly. I did neither so they couldn’t infect my computer with a virus. I said it showed Error 404 on the website. This caused them to get someone else who had actual technical skills. 2. They then tried to get me to go to a different website that was like a TeamViewer style site (can’t remember the site). I then pretended to type the website in but he wanted me to verify the site address. I said that Google was saying it’s a porn site. They seemed surprised but I asked him for the address again and read it back before hitting the fake return button. I said it read as an Error 404 at which the tech said, “You’re fucking with me. “ and laughed. The original operator finally said if I come to India he would fuck my mother. Which I thought was funny.
Hopefully, you can let your younger and older family aware of the scam and keep safe from these predators.
CDA Express has just launched, allowing Australians to purchase CBD oil online without the need of a doctor.
We moved into a rental property and 4 days after we signed the lease they lodged a development proposal.
5 months in and the proposal has been approved, we've had 4 different requests for access to the apartment giving only 2 days notice. Which is what is required to carry out or assess the need for necessary maintenance or repairs, or for a fire inspection. Shown here. https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/housing-and-property/renting/during-a-tenancy/access-and-entry-to-a-rental-property
We've allowed access 3 times (one was classed as an annual fire inspection), each time 5 people in suits come inside the apartment which seems unnecessary for a fire inspection. And the other times they stated in an email only a builder would be accessing the apartment.
This will be the 3rd time in 2 months we'll have to be home to allow access. (We have a dog so they can't come in with their own key as they've requested to)
Does anyone know where we stand in terms of asking them for more notice or for the validity of their visit?
Our tenancy agreement states that: The landlord agrees that, except in an emergency (including to carry out urgent repairs), a person other than the landlord or the landlord’s agent must produce to the tenant the landlord’s or the landlord’s agent’s written permission to enter the residential premises.
Which we think they have already breached as well as using the short notice access as a trojan horse to allow access for their development. (Which we discovered ourselves, they've not told us they're developing the apartments)
Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated
