I know it changed to ABC me, but why? It was soooo good, with like all the best aussie produced shows, either the animated stuff (like jibber jabber) or shows with real people (upside down show), that was literally the blood of my childhood entertainment. All the shows now are just painful to watch, even the new versions of stuff like Scooby doo, that used to be amazing and the poor quality of the animation is arguably what made it so good to watch. Now it's just too well animated and has totally ruined the show.
This is mainly for anyone who grew up in the 2000s, if thats you go and read through this list and get hit with the nostalgia:
I posted here many months ago about my Harvey Norman/Samsung consumer rights fiasco. Long story short i purchased a Samsung q80t from Harvey Norman 9 months ago. It arrived with a faulty motherboard amd after being sidelined and ignored by Harvey Norman and Samsing for 4-5 months my set was finally repaired. The issues I was having were resolved. Happily ever after? Nope
Cut to 2 months after the repair one corner of the screen begins to go dark randomly, there are lines cutting through white backgrounds. Something is very wrong. I contact Samsung directly this time and the service, initially, is much quicker. The repairman came within the week and immediately noticed the issues with the set and offered to repair. I politely decline and ask for a replacement as the set failed in the first week and then again 2 months after repair. He says that's fair enough however the situation will have to be resolved with Samsung's team.
About 2 weeks later I recieve a call from Samsung. They have a 'three repair' policy and wont exchange the unit. Feeling defeated, but skeptical I called fair trade. They informed me that samsung was misrepresenting internal policy as Australian consumer law and that i should write directly to the Samsung Ceo office threatening to report them to fair trade. I did exactly this, now asking for a refund as i didnt want to deal with Samsungs shit anymore. Within 3 days Samsung gave to go ahead for a full refund. Happily ever after then right? Dead wrong.
I was informed two weeks ago via text message that q courier would be in contact in 3-5 buisness days. Low and behold these 5 buisness days came and went. I immediately emailed the ceo office again letting them know the date had come and gone yet again. A week later (26/02/2021) i received a call from Samsung. Not to arrange a pick up mind you, but to survey me on how their independent repair contractor was.
I have now threatened again to involve fair trade if they do not pick up the faulty set by the end of this week and if I do not recieve my refund by the end of this month. Knowing how terrible their customet service is, i doubt it will be the last issue i have with this shit hole corporation.
Anyway thankyou for reading this retelling if you made it this far. I wanted to ask, aside from documenting the current condition of the set on the day of pick up before the courier arrives is there anything else I should look out for.
Am I the only one to have experienced this from Samsung? 9 months of an up hill battle to havey consumer rights honoured. Im tired, and disenfranchised. As a final note avoid Samsung tvs like the fucking plague if you are looking for a high end set.
