Let's be real here, the reason Asians push their kids to be doctors is not due to a noble calling to help sick people, but because it pays well, is prestigious, and is economically stable work. I've noticed though that the parents of doctor friends of mine lately have not been bragging about their kids so much lately. Or if they are, they are quick to brag that their kids are doctors but "he doesn't see COVID patients" or "he is a researcher/administrator and doesn't see patients" or "he doesn't work in a hospital." It's pretty telling in my opinion. When the pandemic is over, do you think the pressure will be more so to push kids towards engineering/accounting/finance?
