Hi there. I moved into my first place, set up my internet, and while the connection is relatively good, it is really inconsistent, and I'm constantly struggling when even one other device is in use.
Our ISP is Belong, on the Standard Plus plan, Which is has an average speed of 40 Mbps, which when doing a speed test we score roughly 5-10 ping, 35-45 download, and 10-20 upload. (on avg. assuming it plays well)
However, as soon as someone attempts to watch something on YouTube, or god forbid the TV, like Netflix or Disney+ (basically anything 4K HDR), the internet just goes wild, and goes from the standard speed, all the way down to 5Mbps at times, (I've done a decent bit of messing around and testing in the modem and multiple devices to attempt to fix this btw). It's almost like the more the internet gets used, the more it slows down, not really staying at a consistent speed if that makes sense (for example in speed tests when all other devices are turned off, it often sits at 50 down for the first few seconds, then slowly goes down further and further, sometimes hitting less than 10 Mb, only stopping when that section of the test is done, if it went on longer I feel like it would go down even more.)
Just now I tried doing two speed tests directly after one another, the first test scored ping: 5 - download: 52 Mb - Upload: 18Mb, the second test scored ping: 9 - Download: 19 - Upload: 0.56. Both run on my PC that is the only device wired into the modem itself. (Wi-Fi has just about the same results)
We had problems at first, because we needed to use a 605 to RJ12/45 adapter. Which took us 2 weeks or so to figure out... But I just have no clue what it is that is causing out internet to do this. It works fine for devices like the TV (all movies will load to highest quality etc. quite quick) YouTube handles 1440p and sometimes is able to load 4K, but once one device is using it, gameplay especially becomes impossible, stuttering is constant even when the ping is less than 20 or so, and overall just throttles itself a lot.
I'm sorry that this is a pretty clueless, all over the place post, but I can't say I'm quite good with this stuff, and I'm not 100% sure about the best questions to ask, and where to ask, So if anyone is able to help at all, it is very much appreciated
I’m applying to uni this year as a domestic student for occupational therapy. I haven’t lived in Australia for a while and was wondering if anyone can tell me what life is like in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and New Castle. Could you also tell me what the cost of living in each city would be like for a student. Reviews on the Uni of Queensland, Griffith (Nathan and Gold Coast), Uni of New Castle and Uni of Sydney is much appreciated as well.
American here. Saw this video and it was so adorable. Is this a real thing or just a YouTuber trying to get views? Can you really have a pet kangaroo? What type is this? I know the gray ones are huge and can kill people. Is this a gray one?
