Last night I was with my partner at the skatepark. We were both skating in one of the bowls and I suddenly had a massive pit in my stomach filled with dread. It randomly washed over me and I was really confused because it was so sudden. I sat down and tried to calm down this feeling of complete terror. He noticed straight away and sat down with me asking what was wrong. I brushed it off at the time telling him everything was okay and decided to get out of the bowl and move to a bench where our stuff was. He followed me out of the bowl to have a quick drink as I sat down. I was about to light up a smoke when I noticed something in the corner of my eye. To the left of the skate park there is a medium sized open field which had a bridge over the top. There were four men walking towards me who appeared from under the bridge. At first glance I thought they were other skaters and so did my partner. He thought nothing of it and then went back into the bowl. I glanced at them again because this feeling of dread begin to rise again and I noticed one of the men was carrying something in his hand. It looked like a smaller version of a chainsaw, the blade was smaller but it was still an electric tool being carried around at 11pm at night at a skatepark. I genuinely froze in terror and made eye contact with him, wanting to run over to everyone and tell them to get to their cars but I was stuck there. I was the deer in the headlights wanting to run but they just stood there a couple of metres away, staring and laughing at me. I felt fear wash over me and then I heard the man say to his friends “fuck this, it’s too hectic” then they all disappeared back under the bridge. I immediately ran over to my partner and told him what I saw. At first he didn’t think any of it at the time but I could see he didn’t want to believe it but started to. Once the other group of skaters left we did straight away as well. He told me in the car that he heard one of the guys say “yeah these ones over here” as he went into the bowl but thought nothing of it until I told him what the man was carrying. Another skater who was younger then me also saw these guys appear then disappear and filled in his friends as well not long before they decided to leave as well. To be honest I don’t know what to think after all of this happened I’m just glad nobody got hurt.
