Hello Everyone!

I am new to your country and have a PR. I need some advice and insight regarding the job market here. Though I am a software engineer of 6 years of experience but I want to join the govt. services. I wanted to know what all job options do I have not necessarily as a programmer? Just as an example, I applied to jobs in AU Post. I was looking at becoming a teacher but that requires doing a 1-2 year course. Also, What kind of part time work can I take(as a female) just to keep myself busy with something and make some money. I applied to a part time sales job in one of the furniture brands but got rejected( primarily because I don't have a sales background). I don't mind working in a store but then how to get selected for such roles?

Any pointer would be appreciated.
