But couldn't find any more information on how to get there, except that it was in Hines Bay. Basically if you drive to Cape Douglas and keep going, you eventually get to a dirt 4WD track. If you have a 4WD you can drive all the way there. If not, you park on the side of the road, then it is a 2km walk along the 4WD track, quite rocky. But lovely landscape the whole way.
We've just come from there, the whale doesn't look as good as in the abc news picture, but it was worth seeing. Still definitely not rotted, although some chunks of flesh are gone. No flies at all, and the only smell was probably from the decaying seaweed which is normal for the beaches in the area. Luckily we had our hand sanitiser with us, so we let the children touch it a bit knowing we could disinfect their hands.
