Does anyone else think it's crazy that Melbourne has more people living in it then all of WA, SA and NT combined? Melbourne's population hit 5 million people in 2019 while WA ( 2.7m), SA (1.7m), NT (247,000) combined population is around 4.65 million.
I know a lot of this land is arid but there is also large parts that could sustain a larger population, south-west WA and areas around darwin could definitely have larger populations. Australia would most likely be a more successful country if these areas did have higher populations as well.
