Hi, my name is Hiro, a 28 Japanese guy, living in Tokyo. I operate YouTube channel sharing Japanese culture.
And today, I came down to Rikugien, the famous Japanese garden. Rikugien is located in the northern part of Tokyo, Komagome and made in 1702.
It wasn’t damaged by the Great Kanto earthquake of 1923 nor the Great Tokyo Air Raid of 1945, so it sustains the original scenery as it was established.
It is the circuit-style Japanese garden, you can enjoy lots of changing views going around the pond located in the center.
Especially in the fall season, you can enjoy illuminated foliage. The entrance fee is just 300 yen, it’s definitely worth a visit.
But, I think it’s a little shame to see only the beautiful view there, because it has many places reproducing the view showed in poems made in the Heian era. So today we’re going to share with you some of the beautiful views and also the story behind that. Hope you enjoy it.
