The BC in my strata building in Melbourne have approved owners installing "backyard buddy" units right in front of the car park sprinkler heads. I mean within an inch or three. Doesn't that make them less exposed to heat and far less able to cover anything except the back of the storage with water? Is the insurer going to refuse to pay any claims if this is discovered after a fire?
Any fire safety experts able to comment on any rule governing minimum clearance between (in this case) built in storage units and a sprinkler head in Victorian car parks? Built in the 80s FWIW.
