SA [Question] becoming a security guard

So i know its a bit of a odd place to look for some answers but i figured why not since i <3 reddit. So i was wondering if any people who have done security work in SA could help me out with your thoughts on the experience.

Questions.

Do you think its a safe enough job that with training?
what can i expect my pay to be for the first year and what is promotion/growth in the industry like?
Is being a guard on the boarder between states (checking for food etc) a decent job? i feel like that could be pretty nice being out there.
The Most important question arguably, whats the worst parts of the job?

Thanks for reading and taking the time of ur day to help with ur thoughts and advice. Hopefully with this post ill have a good idea of if i want to try in this field.

Looking for good books about Australia/Australian history

Exactly what the title says; I'm interested in learning more and I prefer to read books. I don't want an American's idea of what constitutes a good source for all knowledge Australian, and I'm struggling to find content in the US that isn't directed at grade-school level reading.

If this violates r/Australia guidelines, sorry, where else can I find such a good bunch of Aussies? I mean, other than the obvious.

Probe collections debt letter?

Got a letter in the mail detailing a supposed $50 debt i owe to the Department of Health and Human Services from Probe Collections. Anyone else got something like this before? Is it even legit?

Truth be told I've known about an overpayment debt to centrelink since about 4 months ago, but they've never followed up on it and told me not to worry about it until i received a letter about it.

If this is the same thing, I would expect the Department to send a letter in their name and not get some debt hounds to do it for them...

Grey import vs freight forwarding for mobile phones in Aus

Is it safer to buy a Oneplus phone from a grey importer (Ebay Plus/Amazon) or to buy it from the US store and use a freight forwarder service such as MyUS or ShopMate to get a genuine phone delivered and in one piece?
