Hi all,
I'm trying to teach my new wife about expenses and I've got her in the habit of looking at the balance of our combined expenditure card (good progress)
I'd really really like to track items on the thing, ON the website / App, rather than me running a script / categorizing a downloaded Excel file.
Example, something like :
ubereats* = flag as food
aldi = flag as groceries
coles = flag as groceries
village = flag as entertainment
hoyts = flag as entertainment.

G'day fellow Redditors
I put a survey up yesterday asking about your opinion about aspects of Australian culture and identity. Now is the time for the results to come out!
Firstly, I received 118 responses! This is 116 MORE than I expected. I appreciate each and every one of you who took the time to fill out the survey because the results have been quite interesting.
81.4% of respondents have lived in Australia their whole lives...
97.5% speak English as their first language
69.5% were Males, 25.4% were Female, with 4.9% being Other, including Attack Helicopters and Transitioning Child Space Marines (bless your souls)
4.2% of respondents identified as Indigenous
32.2% come from regional areas
77.1% identified themselves having British heritage (not including Irish) in some form or another

This is a Rant/Release of a large frustration and irritation, I need to say this and write it down, tell someone. I am not looking for pity or anything like that. Nor am I aiming to say, "Woes Me". I just need to vent.
For a cutdown but full story time, there has to be a little rewind.
TL/DR? - Due to 2yr (and ongoing/resurfacing) depression slump of selfloathing/inactivity and recovery, I failed to inform centerlink in the correct method. Now I owe them over 15k in overpayments.
----
2017 - I applied for TAFE courses, 2 of them, yeah I bit off a bit more than I could chew at the time. BUT. I was going good at the time of application. The courses were both Fulltime (At least according to TAFE, will get back to that) and had a shared week where it was half and half for the two courses.
About mid year, Depression begins to set in. A combinations of a few At Home issues and the pressures of the courses themselves. Not included though was the fact that Centerlink and the JobProvider of whom I was linked to due to NewStart of whatever its called for my agebracket, refused to acknowledge the calssification of not even ONE of the two courses was a Fulltime Course, thus I was not considered a Student for ABStudy or even anything from the JobProvider, who was still DEMANDING me to look for 20 Jobs a Fortnight despite the clear fact that I was doing study.
Why, Because the while the course called itself a Fulltime course within the TAFE and Educations systems. Centerlink said nope cause it was 36hrs, NOT 40hrs...
Eventually, I got onto ABStudy halfway through the 2nd Semester, but the stress of having to deal with Centerlink, an unmoving JobProvider and 'At Home' issues. I feel into a deep depression. I stayed afloat thanks to family and my partner. But I ended up talking to TAFE and deferring one of my courses, at least at first, then the second after the end of the Second Semester. I ended up using the second half of the year to claw my way back out of depression far enough to be able to be active in the world again.
-----
2018 - I am contacted by TAFE. 'Do you wish to reapply for the courses you deferred?' they asked. Me being the idiot said 'Sure, I feel good.' Though I chose only to focus on ONE this year and was planning on doing the other this year (2019), But by now I had gone back onto Newstart equivalent and would you know it, they restarted me back to square one. So no support, (Yay that system is BS in itself). So I had to once again fight to argue that YES the course is a Fulltime Course. And again, it took until mid 2nd Semester for them to agree in their own way, again dealing with the JobProvider and some new and 'improved' issues at home.

Hi,
I am looking into immigrating to Australia within two years. As I started looking into the Government Website, I found that I could apply as a skilled worker.
I am a Civil Engineer (Project Manager) with a Professional Engineering designation along with 8+ years of experience.
I noticed that to apply as a skilled worker the following shows up:
Condition 8515 on your visa: Married or entered into a de facto relationship before initial entry into Australia
I and my wife are Canadian citizens and we have a Canadian daughter. What would be the best approach to apply? Is there one family application so that my wife and kid are dependent on me and I am the main applicant? Rather than me getting the PR in a year then sponsoring my partner which is time costly. We have been married for more than 3 years already.
I found the following on the internet that could waive the 2 years waiting period for my partner to get her visa (once I obtain my PR).
- Has been ongoing for no less than 2 years and the relationship has produced a dependent child

Hi there,
We are looking at coming to Australia from NZ for a holiday (me, partner, 2 kids ages 8 and 2)
We want to hire a 4x4 and spend a week or so doing some of the tracks aus has to offer. I’m undecided on location, eg Kimberly compared to Cape York, or any other recommendations.
I have quite a lot of four wheel drive experience so will be confident in most the tracks, although not keen to be super remote as we have the kids with us..
So does anyone have advice on the best type of track/s to do and best places to hire out a kitted four wheel drive? Also which time of year to avoid for wet seasons etc
Cheers!
