Hi All,
I just wanted some advice in regards to what I can do in this situation:
I bought a product (Graphics Card) from Dick Smith (or Kogan) on 16/07/2019.
The expected dispatch frame was 1-2 weeks, listed on their website.
(https://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/buy/gigabyte-aorus-geforce-rtx2080-8g-gigabyte/ - not the exact model I purchased initially but it is not on their site anymore. Initial model was the Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 2070 XTREME 8G)
After the 2 weeks, they contact me via e-mail: "due to overwhelming demand, we are unable to ship etc etc"
I think to myself shit happens, I got the store credit and tacked on a bit more money to get a better graphics card from them.
So I'm in for another 2 weeks wait. Cool, no biggie. At the end of this 2 weeks wait, they tell me:
"due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to ship your Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX2080 8G as quickly as originally expected.". The order on the website now says, expected dispatch date: 20/08/2019. Which is today. I check the order history page today and the date is gone. I e-mail support again and ask them what has happened. They tell me:
" I've just been informed that, unfortunately, the stock for the Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX2080 8G has been delayed until the 28th of August. ".=

All up that is 44 days from initial purchase date to the newest 'expected dispatch date' (whatever that means anymore).
Which is nowhere near the "1-2 weeks" they have up on their website.
Which is nowhere near the "1-2 weeks" they have up on their website.
What can I do in this situation? It doesn't seem fair that they can just keep pushing delays like this.
