Bio: Thomas Seymat is a journalist for Euronews, a pan-European media organisation based in France. He leads the company's immersive journalism initiative where they use 360° videos or VR to cover the news - since their start in June 2016 he and his colleagues have published almost 200 stories.
He is an ambassador for the Journalism360 initiative and has recently finished some time at the Missouri School of Journalism, looking into how content creators can improve their news coverage by engaging audiences of immersive journalism.
From his intro:
Immersive journalism is a powerful emerging media format. Over the past three years, we have taken our Euronews audience to a "doomsday" seed vault in the Arctic circle, to Gaza to see what life is like after 10 years of Israeli blockades, to witness the tense atmosphere on the Venezuelan/Colombian border, and to discover one of Japan's most sacred forests.
Primary Topic: He will be happy to answer all of your questions about 360° video and VR in journalism and what he and his team have learned so far.
More Info:
Thomas Seymat will start answering questions at 15:00 GMT / 17:00 CEST, the AMA will be posted a bit before.
