Hi everyone, I'm a Canadian on a working holiday visa and was just curious as to what types of farms I should be aiming for. I have about 5 months before my visa ends so I have enough time to be a little picky with what I should be applying for. Based on some research, my main criteria will be for work that pays hourly and does not require me to bend over all day. For example, I read negative things about limes, lemons, strawberries, bananas, onions and tomatoes, while also reading positive things about cattle, avocados, cherries, mandarins, apples and grapes. If anyone else can provide any input, that would be very much appreciated!
Also, for people with absolutely no farm-related experience, did you have any issues with getting work at a dairy farm? A mate of mine was selling it real hard to me, but some of the job postings I see mention requiring previous experience (similar with driving tractors and working with other machinery). I've heard of people getting these kinds of jobs despite not having experience, but I don't know if they exaggerated or made stuff up on their CV/cover letter/reference.
