House inspections

Hey all, I've seen a few posts about housing but not this exact topic so I hope I'm not doubling up.

My partner and I are planning to buy our first house and have just started going to inspections. What should we be looking for while we are there and what kind of questions should we be asking?

I hear getting chummy with the real estate agents can help your cause.

Any advice on stops along the way between Sydney to Brisbane?

I will be in Australia in the beginning of December. Will stay in Sydney for a few nights, then take a few days to drive up to Brisbane. Any suggestions for spots along the way? We love to hike, surf longboards, eat and drink beers.

Can your tax refund be paid to you in instalments?

So while doing my tax return, my estimate gave me a figure and my notice of assessment confirmed that figure, but the amount transferred into my account from the ATO was only about half that amount. Just wondering if I should be expecting the rest in the next coming days or if something is amiss?
