I got done recently for driving a turbo on my red Ps, I've not had any history of offences and I had no idea that
a- it was turbo
and
b- I couldn't drive a turbo
However in hesitation I think I accidentally said I knew it was turbo though to the police officer
Im not so worried about the fine but I think 3 demerit points is a bit excessive because I'll have to drive like this for the next year

We will be traveling to Alice Springs, Uluru, Brisbane, down passed Sydney, King Philips Island to see the penguins. Maybe Tasmania.
34 days.
Some time spent with family but mostly on our own.

G'day, I'm M26, been a chef for nearly 10 years and since being in 'Straya on a backpacking visa for 2 years, I wanted to stay so I got a study visa and decided to settle studying commercial cookery finally to verify my skills and live happy ever after down under.
To my surpruse as an international student, I'm only allowed to work 20 hours a week. So as the title suggests, I'm sat around each week looking for stuff to do as college is 20 hours and work is 20 hours, that leaves me with 20-40 hours spare.
Also the maximun 400-500 before tax is crippling, with rent and student fees, it leaves me about $85 a week for food, fuel, savings.
Does anyone have any experience with thus? How to get around it? Any exclusions to the rule of 20 hours?
tldr; International student financially crippled by ridiculous government visa laws when he could be earning more tax payable income for the country.
Edit: apologies if I'm in the wrong place, wasn't sure where to post.
