Not sure where to go to ask. We bought a wooden table online - the package came (complete wrapped) on Wednesday. Opened yesterday night. I found a little white looking spider handing dead - gave the table a wipe and it very dirty (brown dust) - just thought it was just dirty.
This morning (Friday), upon closer inspection, there are many holes around the table and found another white ant/spider looking thing hanging dead from the side of the table. It's most like termites.
So I sprayed it with a warm water, detergent and a bit of salt mixed together (home remedy for termites, apparently it suffocates them). The table is now in the boot of the car (we live in a unit with no garage - also building is mainly wood and we have floorboards so I don't want to keep it in the building).
My question is, should I be concerned that the table was inside the house for 2 days? Could the termites have gone into the house overnight? What else should I do?
Will be organising a refund from the seller.
