I remember as a child that if we were bitten by a spider, the doctor told us to catch it and take it to the hospital for proper ID (using the wrong antivenom was said to be as dangerous as not getting an antivenom). As someone now living in Canada and their reaction to the idea of living with spiders and snakes, I just realised how implict it is that Aussie kids are expected to be able to kill/catch the spider that just bit them and take it to the hospital. Was a nice little chuckle.

greetings to all. I have recently been granted a skilled migrant visa (subclass 476) for australia for a period of 18 months and i will be arriving in september this year. It is a huge step for me so i wanted to come prepared therefore im posting my set of questions here. i hope you good folks would guide me and answer my queries which are as follows:
- Is it manageable for an immigrant like me to fund his masters or a post grad diploma by working part time jobs in australia?
- Are there any scholarships for immigrants?
- Which cities are most affordable for students?
- i have a bachelors degree in engineering but i want to get further training via internships and certifications or courses. are there such opportunities for a new immigrant with no experience?
- what should i need to know before coming here? Kindly add any other info that might help out a newcomer. Please and thank you.
