I am looking to rent a property in Melbourne but looking at the renting history, the prices are even higher than it was a year ago.
I have read people talking about negotiating rent, but I have no idea how to go about with it?
Should I mention it during my online application?
or
Wait if I am accepted then ask for negotiation?
Has anyone been successful negotiating rent or any facilities like aircon etc?
Any help would be appericiated.
Thank you

Just warning people that someone is calling Telstra Broadband users, with a recorded message telling them that their internet will be cut off and that you need to call a particular number to have it reconnected.
I called Telstra and they said it is a scam. I suspected that it was a scam but just wanted to check with them. I gave them the number that was supposed to called, but it is unlikely that they will be able to do anything.
If any of you guys get this phone call, don't call the number that they provide you.
If you ever get a call from someone claiming to be from Telstra and they give you a number to call back on, don't call that number. If you need to call Telstra, call them on their usual number and the customer service people will transfer your call to the department you need to speak to.
Most people already know this but my mum nearly fell for the scam, so I am just warning everyone about it.
