There wouldn't be too many people left in Idalia at the moment, but I am wanting any information possible on the status of this group of houses (three houses on one block of land). I don't even know if you can see over the wooden fence but if you are in an apartment up high facing the river you may be able to see down and give me your best guess. Please don't leave your place of safety and please do not send out a drone. Please share this on facebook on the one to a million chance someone may be able to advise. Thanks in advance.

Highschooler moving to Australia from Canada with questions!

I posted to Tasmania and Hobart about this, but it just dawned on me that posting to r/Australia may be a great idea.

So I'll be coming to Hobart at late grade 10 or grade 11. I'm wondering about the schools there; from looking online it seems like most schools are girls or boys only is that truly the case?

Also, in Canada here you need 30 credits to graduate, how does it work in Tasmania? Will I need to get dragged back a semester or two because of my move?

Also, are there any serious after school soccer - football - teams; what about soccer teams in high schools?

Lastly, I'm very nervous about the move, any reassuring things about Tasmania I should know? Mainly about the type of students there.

Australia, short movie

Im working on the script for a short movie about Australia and was wondering what things to include. Feel free to leave any and all suggestions!

Its part of a larger series of short movies where I try to capture the real feeling and vibes of places and not promote the stereo types that get thrown around.

I plan on making each movie about 15m long and in this time try to show a snapshot of how places really are.

Will there be jail sentences for those involved in the Royal Commission banking scandal?

Not to sound like a total socialist (though these days I could think of worse things to be labelled), but will there be serious penalties, even criminal charges, laid against those responsible for the CEOS and regulators who are responsible?

I mean what is at the root of this scandal? Is it the moral failures of this day and age? The short term gains at everyone else's long term expense?
