So I have 2 degrees in the social field. One doesn't have an English translation, but it's a Bachelor's degree in working with people in their day to day lives and taking care of them e.g. disabled people, kids daycare, ...I'm just finishing my second Bachelor's degree, Social Work. I finished this major in 1 year instead of the typical 3 years because many courses were the same/very similar to courses of my first degree. It still counts as a full bachelor's degree, so I don't know if this is relevant. Anyways, I was going over the requirements for a work visa in this field.
It's specifically listing the requirements for social workers from other countries, but I have trouble understanding the last requirement:
"The length of the qualification should be 4 years, but where all other above criteria have been met.
or
The qualification is 3 years or longer and required evidence can be provided of at least a 3-year full time professional social work experience undertaken following completion of the professional social work degree and within 10 years of the completion of that degree, then the experience may be considered as a way of compensating for the shortfall of 1 year in the academic program."
Does this mean it's required to have at least 3 or 4 years of work experience in this field in my own country? So as a newly graduate, it would be impossible? Or would it be possible with a 1 year work-visa (after doing 3 months of working on a farm or similar setting) to do 9 months of working in this field?
If anyone has any knowledge or experience with this, I'd love to hear your stories! If there's a better or more relevant sub-reddit to ask this question, please let me know.
