Hey guys,
We recently purchased a property and have just moved in last week, it's a pretty old house built in the 1950s.
We went in to the subfloor area today due to some ventilation/moisture issue, and discovered these boards:
We're not sure if these are cement boards or plasterboards as they look quite dirty and some parts have broken off.
We're worried there might be Asbestos in there, as it's quite commonly used in buildings of this age. These boards are also in an area that's frequently travelled by us.
Is that the case though? Should we be worried that there's Asbestos in there?
Best Regards,
Johnson

So, we're all now paying GST on things under $1000 bucks. Fuck you, govt. But, when I buy something in Australia, I get a receipt which includes an ABN. I'm guessing this number indicates that they're a real business and are registered for GST. But, I've noticed when I buy stuff online from overseas my receipt almost never contains an ABN or other tax number.
Now, I'm absolutely sure some of these cheeky fuckers are just slapping on the 10% extra, not actually registering for an ABN or for GST, and are just pocketing the cash. That's unfair - if the GST is going to fuck me, it better be fucking everyone else, too.
So, do foreign businesses need to provide tax receipts including an ABN? My understanding is based on this ACCC link: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/prices-surcharges-receipts/receipts-proof-of-purchase But this ATO link says you can register for simplified GST that includes an 'ARN' instead of an ABN: https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/International-tax-for-business/In-detail/Doing-business-in-Australia/Australian-GST-registration-for-non-residents/
What's the go? Also, how can I check that an 'ARN' is valid? I know you can look up an ABN, but the ARN description said it was an internal ATO identifier.
Finally, if I want to hassle a business, what link / law / w/e I point them to? And when they inevitably ignore me, which bigger dog can I complain to?

Hey guys, i just wanted to know if it was possible as an expatriate to study in colleges or universities without any High School Certificate or any diploma? I would basically want to study graphic design or be in a business school, do you think it's possible?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but here i go anyway. I’ve got an issue with my shoulder I need taken care of, I’ve been putting it off for acouple of years as physio can be quite expensive when you’re only working part time. I’m 21 & don’t have health insurance. Would it work out cheaper to take out standalone extra’s cover before visiting the physio? Or just cop the full fee? (Apologies if this is the absolute wrong place to ask)
