I've been seeing this on and off for years, probably no more than 10 times total; a bright, yellowish, star-like stationary object that begins to flash and then completely disappears only around dusk.
Is it a satellite, maybe even the ISS, a weather balloon, star occultation or ayy lmaos?
The time that it happens points towards something catching the last rays of sunlight high up in the atmosphere, but it clearly is not moving and would be the brightest object in the sky sub the moon.
I google disappearing star and every other variation and nothing resembles it.
