FIGHTING AND THROWING AT DONALD TRMP'S RALLY SIDE:

After watching a couple of fights and drink throwing incidents off to the side of his speech he claims that his Rally's are the safest places. Well maybe not for those people involved in the disturbances. They sure do have loud and excited crowds at his events and lots of police and Secret Service agents.

GERMAN CHANCELLOR ANGELA MERKEL DEFENDS HER OPEN-DOOR REFUGEE POLICY:

The German Chancellor interrupted her summer holidays to defend her open-door refugee policy following recent attacks in Germany.

At a press conference Angela Merkel expressed her sorrow about the recent killings in Germany and elsewhere, but stood by her policy on accepting asylum seekers saying:

“The terrorists want to make us lose sight of what is important to us, break down our cohesion and sense of community as well as inhibiting our way of life, our openness and our willingness take in people who are in need.”

Although she admitted that integration posed a challenge she repeated her mantra ‘Wir schaffen das’, ‘We can do this’.

Critics have attacked Merkel’s decision to allow refugees to enter the country, saying there were insufficient checks. She announced that there must be an early alert system during the asylum process, adding the government must take the ‘challenge of integration very seriously’.

More details to follow.

ISIL LEADER IN AFGHANISTAN KILLED BY AMERICAN DRONE STRIKE:

US defence officials believe ISIL’s leader in Afghanistan and Pakistan has been killed in an American drone strike.

Hafiz Saeed Khan is said to have died on July 26 along with his senior commanders and fighters in Nangharhar province.

His death, announced by Omar Zakhilwal, the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, was later confirmed by an US defence official although no formal announcement has been made.

It would strike a blow to ISIL’s efforts to expand its control in the region where the group is challenging fellow insurgents, the Taliban.

Khan’s death would also mark the second US killing of a prominent militant in the region within months. In May, a US drone killed Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour in a strike in Pakistan.

Khan has been reported dead before. Last year, Afghan intelligence agents claimed he had been killed, but the report was never confirmed.

TURKEY GIVERNMENT ISSUES ARREST WARRANT TO TURKISH MMOST FAMOUS FOOTBALL PLAYER HAKAN SUKUR:

An arrest warrant has been issued for one of Turkey’s most celebrated football players – former international striker Hakan Sukur.

A seizure of his assets has also been ordered, as part of an investigation into last month’s failed coup.

Sukur, a former member of parliament, lives in America. His father has already been detained.

Prosecutors accuse Sukur of “being a member of an armed terror group,” a reference to the organisation of the US-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara says was behind the abortive putsch. Gulen denies the accusation.

After football, Sukur went into politics and was in 2011 elected to parliament for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s AK Party. He resigned in 2013 after a corruption probe that targeted Erdogan and his innser circle, siding with the movement of Gulen.

Tens of thousands of soldiers, officials and others have been dismissed or arrested in Turkey since the failed coup.

Sukur is one of a number of people still being sought by Turkish authorities.

“One-hundred-and-sixty-two soldiers are at large, including three military attaches. We are searching for them,” said Fikri Isik, Turkey’s defence minister.

“Three military attaches are abroad. One of them is the military attaché in Bosnia Herzegovina. The other two are the military attaches in Greece. We know that they went to Italy.”

American officials have said that a Turkish military officer on a US-based NATO assignment is seeking asylum after being recalled by the government.

There is a fear that President Recep Tayyip is using the failed coup and purge to tighten his grip on power.

CHINA IS SINKING UNDER NATIONWIDE HEAVY FLOOD:

China has again been battered by nationwide severe storms.

Nearly 60 millimeters of rain fell in just three hours in Yulin City, in the north west.

Flash floods swept away vehicles including a car which by chance slammed into a bus

That meant the three occupants could be rescued. They were pulled to safety from their vehicle and through a window of the bus.

Rain is forecast for the region until August 19.

Major flooding has forced the evacuation of more than 3,500 people from Miyun, just north east of Beijing.

The mountainous area, which is a popular tourist destination, is facing further rain with the risk of landslides.

State media said more than 1,500 rescue personnel have been sent to help with the operation and evacuees had been taken to temporary housing facilities.

So far, there have been no official report of casualties.

There are also flood warnings out for Bejing’s Pinggu and Fangshan districts.

A FERRIS WHEEL OVERTURNED AND THREW 3 GIRLS TO GROUND:

Worn out rivet fasteners on a Ferris wheel are being blamed for an overturned gondola at an eastern Tennessee fair. Earlier this week the faulty Ferris wheel sent three girls plummeting more than 30 feet to the ground.
Late Friday the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced that it has renewed permits for the ride's owner, Family Attractions Amusement, to resume operations at other fairs around the state. The Ferris wheel, however is excluded from the permit.
