Hanh --
Education opened doors that I couldn't have even imagined
when I was a little girl growing up on the South Side of Chicago. There are
kids all over the country who are as hungry as I was to learn, and I know
you're committed to giving every child that same chance.
The power of a good education can lift people from humble
circumstances into a life they could never have dreamed of, Hanh, which is why
it is our job to make sure every boy and girl in this country -- and around the
world, even -- is getting the quality education he or she is entitled to.
We know what's possible when we empower our young people and
offer them opportunities to grow. We've fought for student loan reform, so our
kids aren't entering the workforce with crippling debt, we've increased high
school graduation rates across the country, and through the Affordable Care Act,
we've made it easier for young adults to access health care. But if we want to
see more, we have to work together to make it happen. We've got to support
leaders who understand how important this is, and who will inspire new
conversations about ways to move forward -- because solving our education
crisis isn't just about resources. It's also about attitudes and beliefs, Hanh.
It's up to all of us to make sure our leaders are committed
to improving the quality of life for every American and opening doors that were
once closed. So if you're ready to keep up all the amazing work we've done,
pitch in $10 or whatever you can to elect Democrats who understand that
education truly is the key to growing our middle class and giving our young
people brighter futures.
I'm so grateful for what you do, Hanh. More than I can even
say.
Michelle
