Oakland Fashion Week Press Conference is today Friday 04-03-2015

Dear family and friends,
As you might already know, Oakland is a beautiful city, but every time we only hear about controversy instead of glamor, fashion, art, and beauty water front at Jack London Square. Also, it has a lot of boutiques, manufactures for clothing, but not that many people know about the positive or forget to focus on the best side of the city, so we can share benefit to each other. More. it never had a fashion week.
Therefore, Reflections Magazine publisher and editor-Christal Cathon (who is from Oakland) and I (Ggconnections by Designer-Debbie Nghiem http://www.gggconnections) decided to host Oakland Fashion Week. Now we have a big team come on board to support. We are overwhelming with the support from everyone especial city of Oakland.
As for both of us, we have the experience and big network as well in fashion industry, business corporations, medias, celebrities, and engaged to many different communities in Northern California.. ..especially, for me, I worked for Magic Market Convention (Business Fashion Trade Show for 160 billion dollars yearly in Vegas for worldwide) before, and Vietnam was my region for sourcing. Therefore, Oakland Fashion Week will be just another event with more days to work. On top of that, I had been building my name as fashion designer for the last 7 years and showcased my work all over the U.S , so I understand the difficult of an artist when you work hard, but no market to share or no platform to share your work.
This is one of the reasons why Christal, I and entire team from OFW with a mission to make it change for betterment in our community . Also, it will be more meaningful for us if everyone joins us and works together, so together we can bring something new to the city. Hopefully, we can create more jobs and friendly environment for this beautiful city and other cities in the Bay Area and Northern California nearby.

Oakland Fashion Week Makes Art And Fashion Debut
Oakland Fashion Week will consist of industry forums, networking socials, and fashion showcases centered around empowering economic development and community building.
BriefingWire.com, 3/19/2015 - Oakland Fashion Week will make its debut on April 23-25 with preliminary events that feature an industry forum, a fashion and art night out as well as a meet and greet with the OFW founder, team and models. A fashion packed week will follow the opening events. May 13-17, Oakland Fashion Week will feature emerging designers, boutiques and art exhibitions. Centered around Jack London’s Aquatic Center and Oakland’s cutting edge art galleries, this event will prove to inspire those who dare to aspire. Attendees will be Bay Area celebrities, retail buyers, vendors, industry artists as well as end-consumers.
Oakland Fashion Week was founded with a mission to:
· Promote and encourage community involvement amongst local business owners
· Provide a platform on economic development for models, artists and designers
· Integrate art and fashion with community empowerment strategies
· Give back to local charities and community organizations

The Official Fashion Week schedule will be announced April 3, 2015, 8:00pm, PST at a press conference during First Friday’s Fashion and Art Event in Oakland.
